Wilhelm Wagenfeld - Bremen, 1900 - Stuttgard, 1990

In fifty years Wilhelm Wagenfeld, born in Bremen in 1900, has been designing an unbelievable number of objects: some of them have become part of every day’s life all over the world, such as the salt and pepper holders «Max and Moritz», or the ink bottle from the bended neck…these are Wagenfeld’s favourite’s. Wagenfeld cooperated with Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik at Geisligen and in 1954 he opened a research laboratory for the developement of industrial design projects. Wagenfeld has been working with glass (plates, vases, lamps and glasses), with metal (table items all kinds, candlesticks and doorhandles). His work has been recognized with various prizes. He has expressed his philosophy of design through articles and books.
